The turmoil and shifts that are occurring at such a rapid pace over the last few months have been astonishing.

I remember how brave I was about taking risks earlier in my lifeโ venturing off for 3 years in the Peace Corps, doing long-distance triathlons, moving across the country by myself, asking my now-husband out on our first date.
As I have aged, taking these big risks seems more daunting.
Some of it is just settling into a different rhythm of life and new priorities and some of it is getting stuck in old beliefs and patterns about what I can and cannot change about my life now that Iโm in my mid-fifties.
๐๐ข๐ฌ๐ค ๐ข๐ฌ ๐๐ง ๐ข๐ฆ๐ฉ๐จ๐ซ๐ญ๐๐ง๐ญ ๐ฉ๐๐ซ๐ญ ๐จ๐ ๐ ๐ซ๐จ๐ฐ๐ญ๐ก
โโYou need the friction that builds up when moving through a risk to create something bigger for yourself. A diamond forms from the high temperatures and deep pressure and in the earth’s mantle. There is pain in the process yet the outcome is so well worth it.
I know that I am being called to take a risk and push the boundaries of my own beliefs right now and become more vocal about the systemic inequalities that have marginalized and oppressed the Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) populations for far too long. I know in my heart that I cannot sit back and let it happen around me, that I need to navigate through my fears and doubts and find a way to be a part of the change that I envision for the world by cultivating more courage and taking right action.
What is ๐๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ญ๐ก and out of your own complacency to create a better world?
Get still and let it bubble up within you until you feel the real power of it. Then set the intention to move through anything that holds you back from making it so.
Learn to hold your fearsโ to listen, respect and respond to them yet not give them your power. Dare to protect what matters most to you and take the small, incremental steps that allow you to build up the resilience needed to re-write to stories you carry about what you can or cannot do.
